About Us
Playing with Reality is your opportunity to move from being a passive spectator to an integral creator of the action, and more often than not, you’ll get to play the central role. It’s your choice, your spontaneity, and your personal experience of pure, thrilling play.

Occasionally, we start by giving you a theme (such as the seven deadly sins, from our production Give In To Sin). Think of it as a basic platform. Occasionally, the story will be free-form (such as our productions This is Storybox & Properties of Play). Both styles allow you to experience your own creativity, self-exploration and empowerment.

Decide on your character, then step into a “safe space” where you can be anyone, where you can do and say anything. You’ll be backed by a supporting cast of uniquely trained actors who respond to your character and the plot you’re creating. If you decide to change the direction on the spot, they will accept your ideas and follow your lead.

The play is followed by an open discussion of what you experienced, the challenges you faced, what your interaction with our company actors meant to you, and any other topics you want to address. There is no judgment or critique of your acting ability. This is simply a chance to co-create a world of your own and, above all, to enjoy.

It doesn’t matter whether you’ve had any related training, what you do for a living, how old you are, what you believe in, where you are from, or where you are going. What does matter is your openness to play — right here, right now, however you desire. Playing with Reality is only about your character in the scenario of the moment.

Still prefer to just watch? You’ll gain a sense of community that is rarely provided in such a meaningful way. Sit back and consider what you would do in the scenario you’re watching and how you might play it differently or move the action in a new direction. Then, join the post-performance discussion. Your insights are invaluable.

StoryBox
StoryBox is a place of imagination where participants are encouraged to play in alternate realities. In its full form, it is a 16‘x16’ box with cameras, microphones, and a specially developed implicative sound machine. The audience watches a live stream from a separate room while the participant plays in an undisturbed environment. With limited resources, the stories can be performed without technology and with a present audience.

SimuLife
Similar to David Fincher’s The Game and Peter Weir’s The Truman Show, SimuLife brings the story into the real world. However, our participants are aware when they’re in the story. When playing on the stage isn’t enough, let us bring you on a real adventure.
