Shea studied interactive performance at University of Central Florida’s Interactive Performance Lab. In spring 2010, Shea formed Playing with Reality. Naomi is excited to be working with such a talented group of people at Playing with Reality. After growing up in the Netherlands, working in theater tech during high school, and then graduating Rutgers University a decade ago, she is excited to once again put on her creative hat and play (when she’s not busy being a project manager at an investment bank that is).
Alexandra Gutierrez is very excited and grateful to be a part of this amazing company. Alexandra is an Actor and Commercial Print Model with a dance background. She studied acting at Harlem School of the Arts and from Lehman College. She continued honing her craft with Sande Shurin at the Sande Shurin Acting Studio. Alexandra has various Theater/Film/Commercial and Print credits. Alexandra is also a graduate of Chica Luna’s 3rd Cycle of the F-Word: Media Justice Film/Video Lab, where her talent behind the scenes has expanded working on various indie projects as Production Manager, Director and Assistant Director.
Alexandra is humbled and so very delighted to play with this inspiring company! She acts, sings and dances, and has had the opportunity to do so with various NY and regional productions as well as with a national tour. Originally from Atlanta, GA, Alexandra swapped peach for apple to study at Columbia University, from which she holds a B.A. in Religion.
Alyssa is an actor, singer, dancer, musician and writer; she has recently started directing and producing PwR’s late night Sandbox Series. Some recent projects: just wrapped “Whispers in the Dark” this past fall, which was produced and created by Wirth Creative and part of the New York Film Festival and presented by the Film Society of Lincoln Center; upcoming webisode of “High Maintenance”; online segments of “TheInsAndOutsOf”.
An actor and writer, Annabel is so very excited to be joining Playing with Reality. A graduate of Bennington College, she has appeared in several productions in New York, most recently at the Flea Theatre as a member of the Bats. Annabel has studied at various studios around the city, and credits a great deal of her artistic growth to Terry Schreiber and Scott Freeman. In her free time, Annabel enjoys traveling, yoga and martial arts, and reading metaphysical literature. On a Friday night, she can be found at home with a bottle of red wine and a tarot deck. She currently does not own any cats.
Audrey is an award-winning collaborative artist. She has been working for the past 25 years in film, tv, the web, art galleries, and theaters of every shape and size. She is an actor, director, writer, improviser, clown, teacher, and corporate trainer. She looks forward to playing with you!
Benjamin is ecstatic to be involved in the innovative form of theatre Playing With Reality presents. He recently celebrated his New York Debut in “Ahoy, Abel Brown!” by Tyler Grimes. Raised in Greece, he graduated East 15 Acting School, London, and is continuing his career here in New York. Have fun!
Breanne is thrilled to be joining Playing with Reality’s ensemble. An actor and singer, Breanne holds an MFA in Musical Theatre from The Boston Conservatory and a Degree in Classical Voice from Western University. Favourite credits include “Dancing at Lughnasa” (Kate), “Necessary Targets” (J.S.) and “Les Miserables” (Fantine).
Being the youngest of three sisters, “acting out” had been Brooke’s life’s work in one way or another. Originally trained as a dancer, her theatre credits include “Steel Magnolias”, “The Laramie Project” and “It’s A Wonderful Life”. Brooke has also appeared on daytime shows and independent films. For Brooke, performing is a passion like no other. If there is anything she can leave behind it’s her daily mantra: Live Love & Love Life, Live Your Dreams.
A 2008 graduate of AMDA in New York City, Chris is also a professionally trained saxophonist, guitarist, drummer, harmonica player, puppeteer and touring stand-up comedian. Some favorite credits include “Aladdin The 3D Musical Adventure”, “Sound of Music”, “The Civil War”, “Chuckleball”, “Fame: The Musical” and “God Loves My People Best”. You can also catch Christopher on the Investigate Discovery channel in an episode of “Dates From Hell”, the political viral video series “Dumb Ass”, the web series for Shopbop.com and the new SAG web series “Subway: The Series” coming out in late 2013. Christopher is super excited to be apart of Playing With Reality and very excited to be playing with all the brave audience members who step into the box.
Ellie is an Actor, Improviser and Storyteller. Originally from Minneapolis, she studied acting at USC, The British American Drama Academy and The Imagined Life with Diana Castle. She is excited to be a part of Playing with Reality and continuing to explore and share the art of truthful make-believe!
Emilia Aghamirzai is a NYC based actor-rapper-producer-food blogger-EPIC Harry Potter enthusiast and is thrilled to be a part of the Playing with Reality family! Recently a graduate of the Atlantic Acting School’s 2.5 conservatory program, previous credits include: “SURVIVE! SURVIVE!” (Dir. Trevor Buteau and Kevin Gall) “Romeo and Juliet” (The Wild Project), Aristophanes’s “Lysistrata” (American Theater of Actors), Sheila Callaghan’s “Dead City” (citizen16) George Kaufman and Edna Ferber’s “Stage Door” (Atlantic Acting School). You may find her anywhere there is wine and cheese or excessive amounts of laughter. Emilia is co founder of FatChix Films…keeping the reel real.
Erin is thrilled to be a part of PwR. A graduate of NYU Tisch/Atlantic, Erin acts onstage and onscreen, directs, and choreographs. She is also a cofounder of the all-female production company Binah Films. In addition to her passion for interactive and immersive theatre, Erin’s interests include traveling too much, dancing, and (really good) coffee.
Gillian Leigh Visco is an actor, singer-songwriter, and dancer based in NYC. Visco has studied at Terry Schreiber Studios with Peter Jensen, and has a BA in Theatre and Dance from Muhlenberg College. She has appeared in many independent short and feature films and is currently working on her 3rd feature with production team Project Bootleg. In addition to acting, she is a modern and tap dancer and enjoys choreographing as well. Gillian appeared on the CBS Early Show in 2008 performing as a Piano Dancer on the Big Piano at FAO Schwarz. She plays music under the moniker Shadow Monster. Her next album is due out early 2014.
Inês is an actor and improviser from Portugal. She studied in London, Berlin and is currently studying at the Improvisation News Conservatory in NYC. Some recent projects: award winning film “Red Tulips, A Story About Forgetting” by Shanti Thakur; and “The Balcony” with The Horizon Theatre Rep. She’s excited to join this incredible company!
Juan Carlos is a Puerto-Dominican actor and filmmaker from Washington Heights. He is excited to be joining PwR and can’t wait to play and create! Favorite credits: “RENT”, “West Side Story”, “TRACKED”, “UBU Rock”, “CityKids” (10 years!). He recently launched JUANKI Productions, a production company focusing on Latino works.
Karoline Fischer is an actress who moved to New York City about 3 years ago. Originally from Austria, acting had been her passion for some time and her dream to study acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. After winning on “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” in Austria, she could follow that dream.
Kathy Kelly Christos began her professional theatrical career on-stage in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She took a turn as a professor in the Theatre Arts Department at Cameron University, but preferred the life of a professional actress. She has been in New York for over 23 years.
Keith’s an actor, finance geek, world traveler, and thrilled brother. Educated at U of Chicago’s Booth School of Business and employed in the fast paced world of finance, fate has other plans for this man of eccentric charm. Not long after moving to NYC, Keith was drawn to acting and performing. After two years of studying the Eric Morris System of acting, he’s performed in numerous short films and is proud to be part of Playing with Reality.
Kevin’s an actor, writer, and recovering Okie. He spent this last year working with Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park and Florida Studio Theatre as both an actor and educator. He is now based out of Brooklyn, and couldn’t be happier to spend his first year in NYC as a member of Playing with Reality.
Leah thought she’d take an improv comedy class to complement her study of acting. Five years later she considers herself somewhat of an improv addict. As an actor, improviser, comedian, and writer, she loves taking on new challenges and is thusly stoked to be a member of PwR!
Lily Blackburn is a recent graduate of NYU and excited to be a part of such a wonderful team.
Mary is ecstatic to be a part of the Playing with Reality ensemble and looks forward to working with such a creative group of professional artists! She is a recent graduate of Rutgers University where she received her B.A. in Theatre Arts and Spanish. Her love of theatre and dance has given her an immense appreciation for alternative performance styles, including improvisation groups like PwR. In her spare time, you can find her throughout the Tri-State area teaching and performing one of her many passions: the art of Middle Eastern dance.
Mateo Prendergast first fell for acting while improvising at the Kennebeck River Brewery in Maine. Now a Brooklyn based Actor looking to share himself with the audience, he works in film, theater, and on the information super highway. He would like to thank and send his love to his family and his teacher Robert X Modica.
Matt McCroskey made his first $13 at age 9 doing magic in a bar. Today he is an actor on stage, on screen and under puppets, as well as a documentary filmmaker. Matt recently finished his second feature doc “Big in Bollywood”. Recent performance credits include, “LoveSick”, “Accomplice”, “Museum Hack”, and “Elder Skelter” (Discovery ID). Matt is honored and excited to play with the PwR posse.
Mercedes is supper excited and blessed to be a part of an inspiring and creative company. She is a native New Yorker and received her BFA in Acting from Long Island University / C.W. Post Campus. She looks forward to going on this amazing ride with so many talented people, while she continues to live her dream to grow as an individual, actress, dancer, & producer.
This is Michael Taylor’s first entrance into the acting world and he is honored to be taking it with this troupe. He’s interested in the mental aspects of PwR. Of all the skills he admires of his fellow troupers, their boldness, quick and sharpened wits and ability to think on their feet are the ones he most wishes to emulate.
Michele Vazquez works as an actor, director, writer, yogi, and teaching artist and is a proud–and perpetually new–mom to daughter Harper. Michele earned her MFA from the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego and holds a BA in Creative Writing from the University of NC at Chapel Hill. She has appeared on stage nationally and internationally and is thrilled be Playing With Reality!
Mike is an actor/writer/director/producer from Skokie, IL. He is a founding member and current managing director of Grey Room Theater Company. He trained at Atlantic Acting School and NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he co-founded the late but great improv squad, Captain Soldier, with whom he improvised in NYC, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Delaware, the first state. He often wishes that more people had beards, but also admits that, perhaps, if more people had beards, he would feel differently, and less unique.
Nico Allen is delighted to be a part of Playing with Reality. He believes in the thrill and empowerment of interactive performance. Without it, he would have never won his gold medal in Women’s Gymnastics in the 1984 Olympics, or personally found the solution to a major Fortune 500 Company’s financial crisis. His Oscar-Tony-Grammy Award acceptance speech for ”Best Actor Who Sings” would never have been delivered. In short, life would have just been boring. After graduating from McGill University, Nico moved to New York City to further develop his craft as an actor. He attended the William Esper Studio, where he was introduced to the power of dramatic improvisation. Recent credits include “Something Cloudy”, “Something Clear” (Provincetown Tennessee Williams Festival), “The Parade” (Provincetown Tennessee Williams Festival), “The Fantasticks” (Shreveport Opera), and the Emcee in “Cabaret” (McGill).
Nicole is a graduate of Boise State University and has worked with the Idaho Shakespeare Festival and Boise Contemporary Theatre. She currently produces and acts for “On The Rocks,” sketch theatre so far off-Broadway it ended up in a bar. She is beyond excited to be joining Playing With Reality!
A So Cal native Noel is stoked to be playing with this talented and brave ensemble. She received her BFA in Acting at California State University, Fullerton in 2010 and since moving to NYC has realized that while acting is great, making stuff up is even better. This past year she has studied comedic improvisation with Magnet Theater and began training with Playing with Reality. She is beyond excited to see where this journey of interactive and improvisational performance will lead her.

Renée Myers is a NYC based actor/singer from Vermont. She graduated from Bishop’s University in Quebec with a BA in Theatre and a Minor in Music and French. She is also a graduate of the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute’s One Year Conservatory program here in the city. She loves to ski, travel, and laugh. She is very excited to be working with such a talented and creative group of people at Playing with Reality!
Rick Herrera is an artist who wears many hats. He is a Brooklyn born comedian, filmmaker, writer, poet, and actor. Rick continues to create, learn, grow, and perform in and around NYC. He is a leader of spreading love and positive vibes to all. Rick received his Bachelors degree at Buffalo State College in “Television and Film Arts”.
Trevor is a storyteller. He enjoys reveling in the brilliance of Shakespeare and Guirgis, of Banksy and Gygax. He does not have a Facebook, and he never carries an umbrella because he prefers to get wet. He is more interested in being brave than fearless. He is very excited to play.
Zoë is an actor, director, writer and teacher from the UK now living and working in NYC. Recent projects have included “Survive! Survive!” and “Talking Heads” for Mind The Gap. She is currently working on the first season of the web series “Got Skillz” and is very excited and honored to be joining Playing with Reality.
Sandra Carrington is a training and development specialist who has designed and facilitated workshops featuring interactive theatre for two decades. Her participant list includes employees, managers and executives from The Int’l Assoc. of Assembly Managers, Merle Norman Cosmetic Studios, Phillips-Van Heusen and UBS. Sandra’s MBA – concentrating in HR and Marketing – is from Texas A&M University.
